Kueh LapisPetits fours: Kueh Lapis for Chinese New Year (in the style of petitsfours)
I have made the traditional kueh lapis for dessert for my family early reunion dinner. Instead of serving the usual thin slices, I made them into petitsfours; bite size kueh lapis. I prepared the layers of batter to just about half height of a 8"x8"x3"square tin. After baking, I cut them into shapes with the petitsfours cutters.

恭喜發財 萬事如意 身体健康 出入平安
For this year of the dragon, my husband decided to bake his favourite- pineapple tarts. My daughter and I enjoyed helping out too.

As my oven broke down, I tried baking my kueh lapis using a Turbo Broiler. It turned out quite satisfactory except for the initial layers.
Le Petit Four- Welcome to my blog. I am keen on baking my own pastries as I find those in the bakeries and supermarkets unhealthy and laden with transfats. I am unable to find any suitably healthy snacks; thus venturing into this delightful task of baking.
