Wilton Method of Cake Decorating Course

Enjoyed this interesting course at BIY :
I learnt basic techniques from preparation of icing, method of icing the cake to decorating the cake.
For decorations, I learnt to create icing drop flowers, rosettes, shells, pompom flowers, leaves, shaggy mums, and the ribbon rose. We also decorated cookies and cupcakes.

Gâteau Opéra


Baked this cake for my son's birthday. It is made up of layers of almond sponge cake (Joconde in French),
coffee buttercream, chocolate ganache and topped with chocolate glaze.
